Emergency services' generous donation

A DONATION has been made by the Emerald emergency services to the Emerald Neighbourhood Centre.

The money which was raised at the joint open day for the emergency services-which include the SES, Rural Fire and Rescue, Police and Ambulance- was handed to representatives of the centre this week.

Emerald State Emergency Service Group Leader, Nicole Phillips said the donation to the centre was agreed upon by all of the emergency services.

"It's a fantastic local organisation that does fantastic work for the community,” she said.

The amount which totalled $406.85 will be used by the centre to continue their work in the community.

Director of Emerald Neighbourhood Centre, Jeanelle Horn said the donation was overwhelming.

"I'm amazed at the donation made by the services,” she said.

"As the centre is a not-for-profit organisation, this money will assist with programs and services on offer at the centre.”

President and Chair of the Board Councillor Paul Bell, said that the money is greatly appreciated.

"You don't know how much we can do with this money,” he said.

"It's a very generous donation, we extend our thanks to all of the emergency services.”
