Emergent situation declared after suspicious package found

POLICE have declared an emergent situation under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) at Indooroopilly.

The emergency situation was declared at 5.32pm after police located a suspicious package on the platform of the railway station.

Police including specialist officers are on-scene.

The declaration includes Clarence Road, Lambert Road, Riverview Terrace, Coonan Street (including the bridge) and the intersections of Westminster Road and Clarence Road and Station Road and Riverview Terrace.

Traffic diversions are in place however motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area.
