THE MAN accused of attempting to murder his two housemates was committed to stand trial yesterday.

Eric Roger Frederick Heuer, 35, is alleged to have attacked two men in a blood-spattered stabbing spree on November 18, 2008.

Over the past two days, Hervey Bay Magistrates Court heard many of the details of the incident alleged against Mr Heuer, as Magistrate Tom Killeen decided if there were enough evidence for Mr Heuer to stand trial in the Maryborough Supreme Court.

After hearing the evidence of the two alleged victims and other witnesses who said they saw Mr Heuer kneeling in the water of Urangan beach, covered in blood, on the morning in question, Mr Killeen decided the case should continue through to trial.

While no date was set for the trial for the two charges of attempted murder, Mr Killeen set a date of May 3 next year for mention of two other charges alleged against Mr Heuer.

The final two charges are allegations of fraud and stealing.
