Exclusive interview with premier forecasts year ahead

QUEENSLAND Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has promised 2016 will be a "year of action" for the Labor Government.

Speaking exclusively to APN Newsdesk Ms Palaszczuk said the government had "righted the ship" in their first year since being elected.

"I think this year is definitely going to be a year of action," she said.

"I said that the first year was going to be a steady ship and this year we've set the sails, we're charting the course and now going to the next step and really driving the economy."

"What do I mean by that? We need to diversify. We know there is a downturn in the commodity prices which is having an impact on mining, but at the same time we are seeing large investments still in gas and mining in the state."

To mark her government's first anniversary Ms Palaszczuk spoke to a number of media outlets one-on-one on Sunday.

She defended her government's habit of sending issues to committees - which the LNP has lampooned in a new commercial.

The LNP ad depicts Ms Palaczszuk, deputy premier Jackie Trad and treasurer Curtis Pitt in a block of ice saying they are "Frozen at the wheel". But Ms Palaszczuk said the government was standing by its election promises.

Ms Palaszczuk recommitted the government to releasing their infrastructure plan this year.
