Search for woman enters third week

POLICE boats and divers will today scour the Condamine River as the search for missing Warwick grandmother Gail Lynch enters its third week.

Her son Simon Hutchison yesterday said a Facebook page had been set up to call for information on his mother's whereabouts.

He said the page, Help Find Missing Person Gail Lynch, had kindly been set up by a Warwick woman he had not before met.

"We are just trying to keep it out there (in the media)," Mr Hutchison said.

He said it was a harrowing wait for information on his mother, who is a grandmother of nine.

Meanwhile, a call for information on the whereabouts of Mrs Lynch's ex-partner, Ian Hannaford, has been broadcast nationally.

Regional crime co-ordinator for southern region Detective Inspector Darrin Shadlow said police had not spoken to Mr Hannaford since interviewing him until the early hours of July 12.

He said today's search for Mrs Lynch would be focused on stretches of the Condamine River at Warwick not already searched in previous attempts.

"We are also looking at further land and air searches," Det Insp Shadlow said.
