REIGNING champion Mick Fanning will join veteran Kelly Slater, 2012 ASP champion Joel Parkinson and other surfers, all hungry to take the top title at the 2013 Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach, Victoria.

Fanning, currently ranked third on the ASP tour, said Bells was one of his favourite waves.

"It's always been my saving grace over all the years," he said.

"I just love it down there. It's like my second home, I've got my major sponsors down there."

11-time ASP champion Kelly Slater said he expected Fanning and fellow Cooly-kid Parkinson to excel at Bells.

"I expect both of them to do good at Bells," Slater said.

"If I can get one up on them there, I feel like I really gain something.

"These are the most dangerous guys."

The 2013 Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach will run from Wednesday March 27 to Sunday April 7, 2013.
