Father runs over two-year-old son in driveway

A HARLAXTON father lived every parent's nightmare after his car hit his young son when he was backing his vehicle and trailer out of his driveway.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the two-year-old boy sustained chest and abdominal injuries when he was hit, which happened at about 5.30pm on Saturday.

A police spokesman said the incident, which occurred on Gleeson St, appeared to be a terrible accident.

The child was transported to Toowoomba Hospital by ambulance before being flown to the Royal Children's Hospital in Brisbane.

An RCH spokesman said the boy was in a stable condition this afternoon.

Drayton Police and traffic accident investigation officers are dealing with the incident.
