'Feminist' Miley Cyrus says she's not out to shock

MILEY Cyrus insists she doesn't just set out to shock people and has a lot of "feminist energy".

The 'Wrecking Ball' star may be infamous for her wagging tongue and Twerking dance moves, but she insists her 'Bangerz' shows are not going to focus on shock value.

She said: "I know people make it seem like all I do is come out and shock people. That isn't what it is. I think what girls see is that there's a feminist energy there.

"I'm more focussed on people being excited about me as a singer rather than someone who shocks people. I want people to be like, 'She did some things that were crazy, but at the end of the day it was all about her voice.' "

Miley, 21, always has three hours of calm time before every show to prepare her for going on stage.

She added to America's OK! magazine: "If I get nervous I need to lock it down. I need to sit out, get my mind right and rest my voice ... I want it to be something that's worth going to see. I understand that my fans are young, they work hard to [get the money to] come to my show. My priority is giving them the best show I possibly can."

Miley's Bangerz Tour kicks off on February 14 in Vancouver, Canada.
