THE countdown is under way to one of the Coffs Coast’s hottest festivals.

Curryfest will be held on Saturday week, April 9, at the Woolgoolga Beach Reserve.

Billed as a colourful celebration of the region’s unique cultural diversity, Curryfest offers visitors 12 hours of food, music, dance and fun from around the world.

On offer will be delicious tasting plates from India, Japan, Morocco, Mexico, and even the great Aussie BBQ, as well as an array of tempting sweet treats, espresso coffee and a new licensed bar area.

In the Curryfest Kitchen, learn how to create your own spicy masterpieces with Masterchef’s king of curry, Jimmy Seervai.

On stage, the global entertainment will continue into the night with performances from Ghana’s Afro Moses; award-winning singer and composer Carmella; Australia’s finest guitar trio, Martinez Akustika, who previously toured with The Gypsy Kings and Buena Vista Social Club; DJ Jesta spinning Indian-inspired mixes; the infectious percussion of Samba Blisstas; local reggae legends, Ebb n Flo; and the vibrant and always popular Sher Punjabi Bhangra Dance Group.
