Fiat 500 and Freemont special editions show off true colours

THERE'S nothing like racing stripes for some extra bling.

Fiat has released Tricolore special editions of the cute 500 hatch and the Freemont SUV, which feature the red-white-green colours of the Italian flag.

For no extra cost, the new models have the tri-colour decals and chrome exterior mirrors. Inside there are floor mats also adorned with the red, white and green stripes.

Tricolore buyers will receive an Italian flag design key for the 500 or a special boxed key-ring for the Freemont.

Fiat says the extras are valued at more than $1500.

"Our Tricolore limited edition 500 and Fremont models proudly show the true colours of Italy and celebrate Fiat which is an iconic Italian brand," Fiat Chrysler group president and CEO Veronica Johns said.

"These new additions again highlight the great value-for-money of the Fiat range."

The three-door Fiat 500 Urban hatchback has a fixed glass roof with a sun blind, 15-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, chrome bumper accents, climate control air-conditioning and fuel-saving auto start/stop.

Freemont Urban models come with a 21cm Uconnect infotainment system, which includes a DVD player, dual-zone automatic temperature control, six-way electronic adjustment for the drivers' seat, a leather-wrapped gear-lever and Sunscreen glass.
