Fires in south-west Queensland

RURAL firefighters were this morning tending to a number of grass fires which ignited in south-west Queensland overnight.

A fire which started on a Clifford Rd property near Walumbilla burned out about 283 hectares of land after igniting about 2am.

It was brought under control after crews burned containment lines around its edges.

Grass fires also ignited on Cremorne Rd at Orallo about 2.20am.

A Rural Fire Brigade water was sent to assist people containing the blaze.
