Flexible Humble grabs Tigers' spot
PARRAMATTA NRL utility and former Central Highlands junior Tom Humble has joined Wests Tigers on a one-year deal for 2012.
The 22-year-old, who can play fullback, five-eighth, halfback and hooker, agreed to terms with the Tigers who moved quickly to bolster their utility stocks with Tim Moltzen joining St George Illawarra next year.
Humble played six NRL games for the Eels after making his first grade debut last year.
Wests Tigers recruitment manager Warren McDonnell said the signature of Humble would be valuable to next year's NRL squad given his ability to cover several positions.
"It's important for us to add depth to some of our key positions and Tom can help us do that," he said.
Injury hindered much of Humble's match play with the Eels in first-grade.
The former Blackwater Crushers junior spent weeks in the lower grades with Parramatta's feeder club, Wentworth Magpies.
Humble said at the time that he thought he still had plenty to offer in the NRL and was itching to get back on the playing paddock.
"We (Magpies) are all keen just to get in and start playing some footy and hopefully cracking it back into first-grade," Humble said.
