FORMER National Rugby League boss David Gallop has a new job to tackle - one that involves a round ball, not an oval one.
Gallop, who quit his NRL role three months ago, is the new CEO of Football Federation Australia.
He will replace Ben Buckley, who has been at the helm for the past six years.
Buckley will step aside at the conclusion of negotiations for the FFA's new broadcast deal in about two months.
Chairman of FFA, Frank Lowy, said Buckley first raised the prospect of moving on several months ago and the two had agreed the conclusion of the broadcast deal was a logical time to make a career move.
Gallop is currently overseas for two weeks.
