At least 42 killed after bus collides with truck in France

AT LEAST 42 people have been killed in a bus and truck crash near Bordeaux in southwest France.

Early reports say the accident happened near the village of Puisseguin, 50 kilometres east of Bordeaux and the bus caught fire.

Forty-one of those killed were passengers on the bus, while the other fatality was the driver of the truck.

It's believed most of the victims were elderly tourists from nearby towns on a day trip.
