THE Gateway Motorway at Boondall is closed in both directions due to a truck fire.   Police are advising motorists to avoid driving in the area, after a semi-trailer crashed and caught on fire.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said emergency services received a call about 8.30am saying a semi-trailer had hit a barrier on the northbound lane of the Gateway near the Sandgate Rd overpass (the Bicentennial Rd off-ramp).

She said the fuel tank caught fire and diesel had poured onto the road.

At least one lane is blocked but all lanes were affected.

The spokeswoman said no one was injured.

A Queensland Fire and Rescue spokesman said three crews were on the scene.
