Gentle strength on display in CQPR calendar

LOCAL fitness fanatics dropped their weights, and in some cases their shirts, and picked up a pet for a CQ Pet Rescue fundraising calendar.

Snap Fitness instructors and clients posed in front of a camera with some cuddly kittens or puppies, with some even posing with a snake or lizard.

Photographer Natasha Vought, of Indigo Photography Emerald, said all the funds raised by the calendars would go to CQ Pet Rescue.

"It is trending at the moment to have calendars of people with cute animals and calendars are a great fundraiser because everybody needs them," she said.

"People were only too happy to star in the calendar when I explained it would be saving lives.

"The stars who feature in the calendar are all staff or clients from Snap Fitness Emerald and yes I have 'walked the walk' and feature in the calendar also."

Natasha said CQ Pet Rescue did an "amazing job" saving cats and dogs from the local pound.

"My message would be that pets are for life," she said.

"People need to show more kindness to animals that are reliant on us to protect them. CQ Pet Rescue's biggest message would be that responsible cat and dog owners should desex their pets."

The last calendar photo has been snapped recently, with the calendar production expected to take place soon.
