Girl bitten by snake at Gogango

THE RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue was tasked to Gogango last night to attend a property where an eight-year-old girl had been bitten by a snake.

The girl had been near the house, watching her father work with a horse, when she felt something near her feet and when she moved the snake bit her twice on the leg.

The girl's parents applied first aid and notified emergency services.

The helicopter landed adjacent to the house and the girl was treated and stabilised by the on board doctor and Intensive Care Paramedic.

The young patient was flown to Rockhampton, with her mother as an escort, in a stable condition.

The species of snake was not known.
