THE sixth season of Gogglebox Australia will feature a new group - Matty and his fiancee Sarah Marie and best friend Jad.

The three, of Lebanese descent, are set to bring what producers call a "Middle Eastern flavour" to the hit reality show.

Sarah Marie is the owner of a makeup and hair agency, Matty a marketing and communications director, and Jad a cafe owner.

Executive producer David McDonald describes Sarah Marie as a 'down to earth girl-next-door', Matty as 'the responsible one', and Jad as a 'larrikin' and says the signing is designed to increase the show's diversity.

"The most important thing about the Gogglebox cast is finding a broad range of people who offer a variety of opinions and points of view," McDonald says.

"Matty, Sarah Marie and Jad will provide a different voice to the ones we already have in the mix."

Matty and Jad have been friends for ten years, first meeting through the Sydney club scene where they both worked in their early twenties.

Matty started dating Sarah four years ago and the trio formed a close friendship. Jad is like Matty and Sarah Marie's younger, immature brother.

They have different tastes in television. Matty lives and breathes sports. Sarah Marie loves cartoons and Jad is a fan of food shows.

Matty, Sarah Marie and Jad join groups including the Dalton, Jackson, Delpechitra and Kidd families, Angie and Yvie, Symon and Adam, Anastasia and Faye, and Mick and Di.

Gogglebox Australia returns to Foxtel Lifestyle on October 4 at 7.30pm and Ten on October 5 at 8.30pm.
