AUSSIE kids are getting the bum steer when they turn to the internet or their parents for help with their homework.
That's the finding of a YourTutor.com.au study released this week.
The researchers found 84% of the nation's school students risked "poor learning outcomes" by asking Google or mum and dad to help them with things such as geometry and English essays.
The survey found one in three students struggled with homework.
It said 44% of youngsters searched the internet for answers and a further 40% thought their parents could help them.
Both the internet and parents were deemed by the researchers as "frequently far from reliable" sources of information.
