SARAH Pye is making a passion for photography and a new business venture click.

A past Sunshine Coast Business Woman of the Year, Sarah has just graduated from training with global search engine Google and has joined her partner Trevor Roy as the only "Google Trusted Photographers" in the region.

With their business Real View Image, the couple produces Google Business View Tours which allow customers to virtually walk around inside any business via Google Maps or from search results, just like they can wander around streets on Google Street View.

Tours are created using specialised equipment which takes a series of images to create a panorama. The panoramas are stitched together using the Google software to seamlessly create a tour before being uploaded to Google Maps.

"We were so blown away the first time we saw a Google virtual tour that Trevor moved from real estate photography to Google photography," Sarah said. "He now holds advanced accreditation, allowing him to create tours for hotels which has increased our business so much we needed a second photographer.

"So I accepted the challenge and started training.

"It's never too late to learn."

The first step for a business is creating a Google Business Page.

This is free and only takes a few minutes.

Search for Google My Business and follow the steps. The next step is asking Trevor and Sarah for a free quote. Once they have discussed the business needs with the owner, a time can be made for the Google Shoot. All shoots include professional still images as well as the Google Business View Tour.

These can be used for the business's marketing.

A tour will be live within three to four weeks of the photography shoot.

As a part-time marketing lecturer and tutor at University of the Sunshine Coast, Sarah knows the business benefits of embracing new online platforms but realises it's hard for owners to keep up with technology.

To help them grasp the concept, she has created a workshop called Google My Business to inform local businesses about important changes in Google platforms. The workshop has been embraced by varied groups and businesses including Sunshine Coast Destination Limited.

For more information about Google Business View Tours or to discuss a Google My Business workshop, call Sarah on 0429 962 040.
