THE standards governing Australia's live exports of cattle and sheep will be reviewed with the Federal Government releasing the terms of reference on Tuesday.
The review was a chief recommendation of Bill Farmer's review of Australia's live export trade following the ban on cattle exports to Indonesia in 2011.
It will look at animal welfare issues throughout the live export supply chain for both sheep and cattle to all of Australia's live export destinations.
Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry deputy secretary Phillip Glyde said the review was part of the Government's response to Mr Farmer's review.
The Government now is seeking submissions from the public and industry on the review, with the terms of reference to be uploaded to www.daff.gov.au/liveexports
