Grievous bodily harm charge after car ploughs into woman

A MAN has been charged following an incident in which a woman received internal injuries in Clontarf yesterday.

Around 5pm, a woman was walking along Hornibrook Esplanade when it will be alleged that a vehicle left the road and struck the woman.

A 50-year-old Clonraft woman was transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital for treatment of internal injuries and is in a stable condition.

A man was taken into custody a short time later.

Both parties are known to each other.

A 55-year-old Deception Bay man has been charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court today.
