Guess who's back swearing her head off at the Lammy?
THE Lamington Hotel's favourite feathered friend, Cocky, has been found safe and sound but this talking bird is staying silent as to who is responsible.
The Lammy's resident cockatoo was retrieved from Point Vernon on Monday after manager Vicki Shaw was tipped off via social media as to its whereabouts.
"A lady had been given the bird from somebody else from somebody else so we're really not sure who actually took it but we have got Cocky back," Ms Shaw said.
"We had people dropping in and giving us money towards a reward but the lady who had cocky didn't accept it.
"She was just happy enough for the bird to be going home."
While it is still unknown why the 48-year-old bird was taken from its cage in Maryborough on Sunday between 3am and 5am, another mystery has been solved.
"We found out she was a she," Ms Shaw said.
"We were never sure but the woman caring for her looks after birds so she was able to tell us."
Cocky's kidnapper may still be on the lamb, but for now her owners say they are happy she has been returned.
"She is a little bit injured but safe and sound and back at home so we're all ecstatic.
"She's happy to be back, she's swearing her head off already and talking like she used to."
