A SUNSHINE Coast-based business founded four years ago has been named the second fastest growing company in Australia.

Jetts 24 Hour Fitness came in second behind emissions trading company COzero on Business Review Weekly's Fast 100 list.

Jetts was founded in 2007 by Brendon and Cristy Levenson and now has 132 fitness clubs in Australia and New Zealand.

Another 20 are due to open by Christmas.

The head office is at Mooloolaba.

The fitness clubs are open 24 hours, seven days a week, and members pay a monthly fee without locking into contracts.

Mr Levenson said the business had been successful because it offered a good product at a good price that met customer's needs.

"A lot of businesses forget about their bread and butter - looking after number one, the customer - and it starts to detract from the value proposition," he said.

Mr and Mrs Levenson launched Jetts after operating two gyms at Marcoola.

Mr Levenson said the previous owner of their first gym had operated without contracts and members had keys so they could workout any time.
