Dizzying Muster heights

THEY say a view is everything and this year at the Optus Gympie Music Muster the best view comes from a Muster first.

Australia’s largest travelling ferris wheel has set up at the Amamoor Creek festival grounds, much to the delight of Brisbane’s Scarlet Knight.

Young Scarlet was in awe of the 100-foot wheel and could not wait to have her first ride on Wednesday.

“I’m excited to get on,” she said.

DDS Amusements employee, Siobhan Kennett said the ferris wheel was carted around Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria on two trailers and weighed 62 tonne.

There are 20 cars and each suite weighs one tonne.

But it only took one minute for the giant wheel to make a complete turn.

“It’s the best way to see all the excitement at the Muster,” Ms Kennett said.

And from the smile on her face, Scarlet agreed.
