Halfback fit for World Cup but not Warriors
THE Warriors have lost Shaun Johnson for the season but New Zealand will be able to call on the halfback at the World CUP.
Johnson was taken from the field in his side's Round 19 clash with Penrith with initial reports suggesting he had damaged his anterior cruciate ligament.
However instead of missing 6-9 months with an ACL injury, Johnson will be fit to play in 6-8 weeks after it was confirmed he suffered a PCL rupture in his left knee.
"This is a much better outcome than we had expected," said Vodafone Warriors team doctor John Mayhew.
"We had believed the injury was likely to be an ACL but scans have indicated this isn't so and Shaun won't need surgical intervention to repair the injury."
