The September holidays are here already and there is a range of local activities available to keep the young ones entertained.

Pick-A-Pot Pottery will be holding pottery workshops for those children who love to get creative. The two-hour workshop will allow them to create and paint two of their own pieces using high quality stoneware clay. The hand-made art will be cooked, glazed and returned over the following school holidays. Using their creative ability, each child will receive two special pieces of art they can keep forever. Children under five-years-old need to be accompanied by an adult. Pottery workshops will be happening at Blackwater on September 17, Tieri on September 18 and Moranbah on September 21. Two workshops will take place each day at 8:00am and 11:30am with a cost of $30. To ensure you don't miss out, message Pick-A-Pot Pottery on Facebook or email

Wave the Jolly Roger high and proud as libraries across host a treasured day about pirates. Isaac Council Libraries are holding a day full of fun for International Talk Like A Pirate Day. The youth of the Isaac are encouraged to put on a well versed accent as they join a scavenger hunt, create some pirate craft, read a pirate tale and share in the pirate's treasure. The sessions will be happening on September 19 at 10am in Middlemount, Dysart and Clermont, with the exception of Moranbah which will start at 2pm.

Head to the Capella Cultural Centre for a full family day out. The cinemas will be screening Captain Underpants on September 15-18 and Diary of a Wimpy Kid on September 22-25. Finish the day with a dip in one of the pools and a BBQ around the pool.

The Emerald Library will be hosting activities throughout the holidays including a PlayStation 2 Guitar Hero Battle on September 19 from 2-3pm. Visit the library for more information on the activities offered.

Cross Fit Kids School Camp is on again, with plenty of activities planned on September 25, 27 and 29. Suitable for kids, youth and teens, the sessions will cost $30 for one, $50 for two or $70 for three. Book your place now by calling 49874994.
