Hey Dad star Robert Hughes' victim wishes him misery
A WOMAN who was sexually assaulted by former Hey Dad! star Robert Hughes has told a Sydney court she wishes the jailed actor "nothing but misery".
In one of many emotional impact statements read out at Hughes' sentencing hearing on Friday, the woman, who can not be named, said she never thought she would see the day that he was held accountable for his actions.
She said that for years she had to leave the room or change the channel whenever she heard the Hey Dad! theme song or his voice on advertisements.
All victim impact statements were read out on behalf on the victims.
Former child star Sarah Monahan Morris, who played the actor's daughter on the popular family show, said the fear of future harassment had effectively destroyed her career and forced her to leave the entertainment industry.
When the original guilty verdicts were handed down last month, Hughes screamed and protested his innocence.
The Telegraph reported his wife and agent Robyn Gardiner, who stood by her husband throughout his trial, had prepared an affidavit for the hearing, which is expected to continue in coming weeks.
Hughes remains in custody at Sydney's notorious Silverwater jail.
He will be sentenced at a later date.
