High-speed pursuit ends with crash

THE driver of a stolen yellow Porsche crashed the sports car and then stole another vehicle in an attempt to escape police.

Gold Coast Police were involved in the pursuit of the Porsche for more than two hours in Currumbin Valley.

The chase started on Bridgman Dr, Reedy Creek, about 11am but police lost contact during the high-speed pursuit.

Police spotted it again on Tallebudgera Creek Rd with damage to the front of the car and contined the persuit.

The Porsche was stolen from Mudgeeraba on August 25.

The 23-year-old male driver crashed the sports car through a fence on Golden Valley Rd, Tallebudgera, about 12pm.

Police said after the crash the driver then stole a Nissan in an effort to evade police for a third time.

A man was arrrested on Trees Rd, Tallebudgera, and at 6pm yesterday was assisting police with inquiries.
