Hit and run and car hijacking suspects still at large

POLICE are hunting a man and a woman involved in a hit and run traffic crash and attempted carjacking at Camp Hill on Thursday.

At 12.30pm, police tried to intercept a damaged black Ford Falcon travelling along Old Cleveland Road at Coorparoo.

The vehicle failed to stop and drove away from police at high speed.

A short time later at approximately 12.35pm the same black Falcon was travelling along Bruce Street at Camp Hill when it proceeded through a "Stop" sign at Halland Street and collided with another car.

The Falcon then crashed through a fence and into a residence.

The man and woman exited the vehicle and ran over to another car stationed nearby and attempted to force the female driver out.

A male member of the public came to the aid of the driver and forcefully removed the man and the woman from her car.

The pair then fled the scene.

The driver and passenger of the other car involved in the crash, a 52 and 59-year-old woman, both received injuries and were taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Investigations have determined the same black Falcon was involved in another hit and run incident two days prior.

On April 25 around 12.15pm a car was stopped at traffic lights on Wynnum Road at Preston Road in Wynnum West was struck from behind by the vehicle.

The black Falcon reversed and fled the scene. The driver of the other car was uninjured.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incidents and have further information or dashcam vision to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
