Hockeyroos comeback against China wins them a World Cup spot
THE Hockeyroos have played their way into the World League final, and the 2014 World Cup, after coming from behind to beat China 4-1 in their semi-final clash in London yesterday.
Ashleigh Nelson (WA), Claire Messent (VIC), Georgie Parker (SA) and Emily Hurtz (NSW) scored the goals for the Aussies to set up a clash against England overnight, after the host beat Argentina 4-2 in the other semi-final.
The win over China means the Hockeyroos will join their male counterparts, the Kookaburras, in action at the World Cup in the Netherlands after the men also qualified last month.
