BRONCOS and Queensland stalwart Justin Hodges has been cleared to take his place in Wednesday night's historic 100th Origin game at Suncorp Stadium.

The veteran centre, who celebrated his 32nd birthday in the Maroons camp at Sanctuary Cove yesterday, has been battling an ankle injury suffered against the Titans 10 days ago.

Hodges has missed most of the training sessions on the Gold Coast, electing to spend much of his time on an exercise bike.

But a spokesman for the Maroons said the 18-game Origin player had taken part in all training sessions yesterday, including a swim, and skills and kicking practice with special guest, former Socceroos star Harry Kewell.

"Hodgo trained well and he'll definitely play," the spokesman said.

He also said Kewell was most impressed with what he saw, which included players such as Johnathan Thurston trying to kick goals from next to the corner post, something "JT" almost achieved with his left foot.

"Harry was blown away by the size and skill of the players," the spokesman said.
