Holden has recalled some Cruzes due to an issue which could cause reduced braking.

Holden recalls turbocharged 2011-2012 model Cruze

HOLDEN will contact owners of turbocharged Cruzes with automatic transmissions to fix an issue which could cause reduced braking.

The recall only applies to the JH Cruze manufactured between February 2011 and June 2012, powered by a 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine and mated to an automatic transmission.

The vehicles' supplementary electric vacuum pump may not work when the engine is cold. 

According to a notice on Product Safety Recalls Australia, when the engine is cold and does not have enough vacuum the braking performance of the vehicle will be reduced, which poses a potential crash hazard.

More than 11,000 vehicles are affected.
