A YOUNG girl has suffered chest, head and pelvic injuries in a motorbike crash on a Sunshine Coast hinterland property.
The Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to a private property near Imbil at 3:40pm Friday afternoon, after a young girl from Brisbane injured herself whilst riding a motocross bike.
The accident occurred on a property where the young girl and her family were camping for Easter in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
The young girl is an experienced off road motorcycle rider, having ridden most of her life and was having a ride with a bigger bike when she fell.
She was treated on scene by family and friends, Kenilworth first responders, and then followed by the Queensland Ambulance Service.
The helicopter crew then airlifted her to the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital suffering head, chest, & pelvic injuries. She traveled in a stable condition.
This is the second motocross accident so far for this long weekend, earlier the Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted a Redland City man in his 20s, after he crashed a dirt bike near Meandarra on Friday morning.
The man had been riding at a property when he fell, losing consciousness and sustaining suspected head and spinal injuries.
The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) was on scene first to assist the man.
He was airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
