Mac has slightly used body in top shape for national titles
IT IS going to be Mac Hosking's first time at a national title event, but he feels ready.
The Queensland Champion in both 50+ and 60+ age groups for body building, feels like his preparation is right on track for the Australian INBA Natural Body Building Championships.
The championships, which will be held in Melbourne, at the famed Mooney Valley racecourse, will bring together state champions from all over the country to try and be the best in their age group.
Hosking, though, is aiming at winning the 60+ age group, and will also compete in the 50+ simply because he has the opportunity.
"I am quite hopeful of doing well in the 60+; I pretty much know my opposition," he said.
"That's the one I have to win."
The preparations for the national titles have been extremely extensive for Hosking, who began work on his figure as soon as the Queensland event was over in May.
With most of the weight work now over, the pool cleaner by trade is now in for a tough week before the day, eating limited food so that his muscles show their best on the day.
"I have been going really heavy since May," he said. "I am on target with weight loss, I have gained more size since May and I am going in a lot heavier."
One of the last items on the checklist for Hosking is a spray tan on Friday before finally getting on stage to prove he is the best.
While nerves are not a problem for Hosking in his first nationals, it may be the only opportunity he gets at the level.
"I feel like I can seize the opportunity - another one off the bucket list," he said.
"Next year depends on if I sell my business and where I am at."
