Ignoring Diego could cost a lot for Liverpool

FOOTBALL: Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has warned his team to be wary of Diego Costa when his side takes on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday morning (AEST).

The Spanish striker (pictured) scored twice in the Blues' 2-2 draw with Swansea City last week, with Klopp describing the Brazilian-born hitman as "world class".

"He is a real warrior on the pitch," he said.

"He uses his body all the time and that is a quality. He was nearly unstoppable against Swansea.

"He is world class and that's the best thing football fans can say about you."

In October last year, Klopp had his first win as Liverpool manager at Stamford Bridge, but he said this Chelsea side under Antonio Conte was a different proposition.

"They were champions two years ago and then had a difficult year and they changed their manager," the German said.

"Last season was not a Chelsea season and now they are back on track, so we need to be ready for a real challenge."

Chelsea, second in the league and unbeaten in the league under Conte, will be without captain John Terry with a foot injury after the defender strained ligaments in his foot against Swansea.
