Irrigators sharing the knowledge

FOUR prominent irrigators from Australia and New Zealand will be in Emerald next Wednesday to host a special irrigation forum.

The Sharing the Knowledge program highlights efficient irrigation operations by hosting free forums where irrigators can share their knowledge and experience.

According to the NSW Irrigators Council, the discussion will revolve around what's working, what's not, and the challenges in trying to do more with less.

"The speakers cover a range of water delivery techniques and provide an insight into the level that these various technologies can be taken to when pushed to their limits," organiser Mark Moore said.

"We've got some of the best farmers in the world but not necessarily the best soil, water quality or water availability, so how are farmers not only dealing with a changing irrigation industry but prospering in it?"

The forum will be at Emerald's Mayfair Hotel at 11.30am on Wednesday, November 23.

Presenters are - Andrew Parkes (Moree, NSW), Eric Watson (Ashburton, NZ), Marek Kwiecien-Fisher (Gingin, WA) and Richard Gardner (Tunbridge, TAS).
