Isaac mayor points to new jobs website

ISAAC Regional Council Mayor Cedric Marshall has encouraged employers and jobseekers to take advantage of a new online job board.

The website www.coaltocoastjobs .com.au was set up to assist employers big and small from all industries to cope with the demands of skills shortages in the region.

More than 200 local employers and over 1500 jobseekers are already using the site with great success.

With unlimited free advertising offered by the site, there has been a huge spike in users recently, with retail giants like Myer and Coles using it to launch their searches for staff.

Cr Marshall said skills shortages and high staff turnover would be an ongoing problem in Isaac.

"We would like employers in the region to be aware of this new website so they have every opportunity to promote vacancies," he said.

The Regional Economic Development Corporation has also set up a Facebook page to keep jobseekers up to date.
