BRISBANE cooking whiz Jack has secured the second spot in the final of Junior MasterChef.

Jack, 12, will face off against WA's Greta, 11, in tomorrow's grand final after winning tonight's semi-final challenge set under the sails of the Sydney Opera House.

Jack faced off against his mates Harry and Zac in the challenge which saw the trio design and create their own five-star menu.

Harry chose to cook rabbit despite only using it once before and Jack attempted a new smoking technique for his lamb.

Jack's risk paid off while Harry paid the price for his choice of meat.

"I'm amazed. I never thought I'd get this far," Jack said when he was announced the winner.

"To get through to the Top 2 is amazing. I can't put it into words."

In tomorrow night's two-hour finale, Greta and Jack will face some of the most difficult and exciting challenges to date.

If Jack wins it would be the second time in a row that a Queenslander has won the title of Junior MasterChef after 12-year-old Isabella Bliss won last year's series.
