BREAKING: Very large shark seen at Boyne River mouth

THERE have been reports of a shark sighting off the Lilley's.

In a post on its Facebook page, Gladstone Regional Council said there had been a sighting of a very large shark today at the Lilley's, just off the Boyne River mouth.

"Please be cautious while in that area and pass on this information to anyone who might be planning to visit that area," the post read.

We understand a local resident reported the shark to a volunteer at the Gladstone Conservation Council.

One Boyne resident told us she had heard there had been several sightings of a fin in the water in that area in recent days.

She said it was a popular local fishing spot.
