Katy Perry touches down in Australia for media tour

POP star Katy Perry has begun a whirlwind media jaunt in Australia ahead of her Prismatic tour later this year.

The singer, who has continued to top Australian charts since the 2008 release of her debut single I Kissed a Girl, arrived in Sydney on Tuesday morning.

Despite enduring an overnight flight from the US, much was made about Perry's less than glamorous appearance.

Gossip columnists were quick to put her "grandma" look and lack of make up down to her rumoured spilt with fellow superstar John Mayer.

Perry is expected to appear on popular breakfast show Sunrise on Wednesday morning.

She will return to Australia in November to kick start her tour at Perth.
