'Louis Armstrong' packs a punch

POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice has teamed up with one of Australia's top bartenders Jason Williams to create a drink called the 'Louis Armstrong'.

The 'Louis Armstrong' punch is easy to prepare and serve, and will quench your thirst on hot summer days.

Louis Armstrong (serves 6)

  • 150ml Vodka
  • 200ml POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice
  • 100ml Raspberry puree
  • 150ml Cloudy Apple juice
  • 4 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
  • 100ml Sparkling mineral water
  • Cubed ice
  • Orange wheels, raspberries and pomegranate seeds

  • Add all ingredients to a pitcher or bowl
  • Add ice 20mins before serving and garnish with fruit
  • Garnish individual glasses with fruit

Want to make the perfect summer cocktail? Jason Williams has the following easy tips:

  • Just as POM Wonderful is a balance of sweet and tart, you want your drink to be balanced too. Think about a sweetener (sugar, honey, liqueur etc) and a sour element (lemon, lime etc).
  • Shake it like you mean it! There is a saying that says, 'shake it like your trying to wake it up, not send it to sleep'.
  • Use quality ingredients. POM Wonderful is a great start, but match that with fresh produce and other superior brands.

Host the perfect summer gathering for your friends and family:

  • Outdoor get-togethers call for relaxing, shady areas where guests can take a respite from the summer sun. A large umbrella is a great option to shield guests from the harsh UV rays.
  • Serve a variety of beverages for guests including non-alcoholic options such as lemonade or POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice.
  • Don't spend hours cooking over a hot stove. Serve easy-to-prepare dishes such as cold cuts, seafood, salads and dips.
  • Replace ice cream with a cool pomegranate sorbet for a healthy alternative.
