Kick off Christmas with a tipple

The POM Silly Season Cocktail
The POM Silly Season Cocktail

POM Wonderful has teamed up with one of Australia's top bartenders Jason Williams to create the POM Silly Season Cocktail.

This cocktail blends the flavors of Christmas including POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice, rum, plum and cinnamon, and is topped with a mint sprig and a cherry for a refreshing holiday treat.

The ideal festive mixer, POM Wonderful provides the pure taste of pomegranate with no added sugar, colourants or cheap filler juices associated with other juice drinks and pre-packaged cocktail mixers.

The Silly Season Cocktail

  • 45ml Dark Rum
  • 60ml POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice
  • 1 1/2 Spoons of plum jam
  • 2 Dashes of cinnamon bitters
  • 30ml Lemon Juice
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon

  • Shake all ingredients and strain into a tall glass
  • Garnish with a mint sprig and a cherry

Want to make the perfect summer cocktail? Jason Williams has the following easy tips:

  • Just as POM Wonderful is a balance of sweet and tart, you want your drink to be balanced too. Think about a sweetener (sugar, honey, liqueur etc) and a sour element (lemon, lime etc).
  • Shake it like you mean it! There is a saying that says, 'shake it like your trying to wake it up, not send it to sleep'.
  • Use quality ingredients. POM Wonderful is a great start, but match that with fresh produce and other superior brands.

Host the perfect summer gathering for your friends and family:

  • Outdoor get-togethers call for relaxing, shady areas where guests can take a respite from the summer sun. A large umbrella is a great option to shield guests from the harsh UV rays.
  • Serve a variety of beverages for guests including non-alcoholic options such as lemonade or POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice.
  • Don't spend hours cooking over a hot stove. Serve easy-to-prepare dishes such as cold cuts, seafood, salads and dips.
  • Replace ice cream with a cool pomegranate sorbet for a healthy alternative.
