THE woman accused of killing her six-year-old daughter Kiesha Weippeart has been committed for trial for her murder, more than a year after the little girl's remains were found buried in Sydney bushland.
Kristi Anne Abrahams, 29 and her partner, Robert Smith, 31 allegedly killed Kiesha some time during July 2010 at their home in the western suburb of Mt Druitt.
Kiesha was reported missing that month and the discovery of her remains in shallow graves on the outskirts of the town in April last year sparked outrage in the local community.
The couple was charged with Kiesha's murder on April 22, the day she would have turned seven.
Mr Smith has since pleaded guilty to manslaughter and accessory after the fact to murder.
On Monday, activists from the Voice of Kiesha support group packed a Sydney courtroom where Ms Abrahams was expected to take part in a committal hearing.
Instead she chose to waive her right to a hearing and a trial was set down for September 6.
