Knights out for season after injuring knee against Power

RICHMOND recruit Chris Knights is the latest player to have his season ended prematurely.

The former Crows midfielder has already had surgery on his right knee after injuring the patella tendon during the 41-point loss to Port Adelaide on Saturday afternoon, and will miss the rest of the 2013 campaign.

Richmond general manager of football Dan Richardson said Knights had been a great contributor to the Tigers this season, averaging almost 20 disposals a game since breaking into the team in round three.

"It's realty disappointing for Chris. He's been a great addition to the team since arriving at the club late last year," Richardson said.

The Tigers suffered a double blow in the game, losing utility Shane Tuck for up to eight weeks with a shoulder injury. He is due to have surgery today to repair a fractured scapula.

The 31-year-old suffered the injury during the third quarter on Saturday, but sowed tremendous courage to return to the field and see out the match.

On the positive side, coach Damien Hardwick will regain key forward Ty Vickery and Trent Cotchin, Dylan Grimes and Ricky Petterd will be assessed this week.
