Kratzmann Caravans wins award

KRATZMANN Caravans was named Best Large Retailer in the annual Caboolture Region Excellence in Business Awards announced a few days ago.

Queensland's largest caravan retailer, the Burpengary-based business opened Australia's first caravan super centre on a six-hectare site adjacent to the Bruce Highway last September.

The $9 million facility displays over 100 caravans, camper-trailers and motorhomes, and was the personal vision of company founder Gary Kratzmann, this year celebrating 42 years in business.

Presented by the Caboolture News with support from the local Shire, the award recognises Kratzmann Caravan's contribution to the local region as a retailer with more than 10 employees.

"We identified the Shire of Caboolture, and Burpengary in particular, as a major growth area some years ago and the success of our business, since expanding to the new facility, is an indicator that we got that right," Kratzmann Caravans Burpengary general manager Clint Kratzmann said.

"From the start the Shire was enormously supportive in the development and we're delighted to have been recognised with this award, which is very unexpected.

"There are some great businesses in this region, so to have won the award for 'Best Retailer over 10 employees' is a great honour."

Clint Kratzmann was also quick to recognise the support of the caravan industry and its loyal customers in winning the Award.

"As part of the award process we had enormous support from the caravan industry, particularly with some very complimentary endorsement of our innovative design work in the caravan manufacturing side of the business.

"We'd really like to thank the CTIA Queensland and the CRVA national body for their support and comments, and also the many customers who took the trouble to support us in winning the award."

The Caboolture News Excellence in Business Awards are presented annually to local businesses in an evaluation that includes some mystery shopping to confirm its credentials, and seeks endorsement from customers and industry bodies alike.

Kratzmann Caravans' new Burpengary facility includes an enormous all-weather showroom, extensive outdoor and fully-covered display zones, state-of-the-art service and spare parts centre, and even a sheltered picnic and barbecue area for customers to relax while considering their purchases.

Across its two sites - Burpengary and Virginia - Kratzmann Caravans features Brisbane's largest range of caravans, camper trailers and motorhomes with chosen brands including A'van, Bolwell, Concept, Franklin, Goldstream, Jurgens, Track Trailer and Traveller.
