TENNIS: Rising star Nick Kyrgios has quashed speculation he would boycott Australia's Davis Cup quarter-final against Kazakhstan in Darwin later this month.

Fears were raised the 20-year-old, who took on Frenchman Richard Gasquet in the fourth round at Wimbledon last night, would withdraw from the tie after fellow Aussie Bernard Tomic criticised Tennis Australia following his third-round loss to Novak Djokovic.

Tomic, who was banned from the clash in Darwin by TA after his outburst, also said Kyrgios had told him: "If you don't play, I don't play".

But after some media outlets reported that meant Kyrgios (pictured) would make himself unavailable to take on Kazakhstan, the world No.29 took to Facebook to deny the suggestion.

"As a proud Australian, it's a pleasure and privilege to be able to represent my country in Davis Cup," he wrote.

"As long as I'm able, fit and healthy, it's an opportunity I will never pass up."
