Ladder positions aside, neighbours want the points

IT IS the NRL's battle of the battlers but that can sometimes produce the unexpected, like the unforgettable Brett Morris aerial try earlier this year.

The showdown between the Dragons, struggling after four successive losses, and Cronulla, languishing in last position with just two wins this season, is hardly a marquee clash, but for these two NRL neighbours the two premiership points and a win are paramount.

Benji Marshall (pictured) has copped a fair hammering since his comeback to the NRL, with many predicting he is on his last legs, but champions can often make fools of critics and he just needs to find his timing again.

Cronulla has too many quality players out injured - including Paul Gallen, Todd Carney and Andrew Fifita - to win this one if the Dragons play to their potential.
