Large car bomb kills 11 wounds dozens in Turkey

A LARGE car bomb has killed 11 people and wounded dozens after exploding, in Cizre, near a guard post on the border between Syria and Turkey.

BBC reports 70 people were wounded and eight policemen were among the casualties.

It is as yet unclear who carried out the attack, however, local media reports have laid the blame on the PKK or Kurdish Workers Party which has been in intense confrontation with Turkish authorities in the past few months.

The news comes after the UN demanded an investigation into claims more than 100 people burned to death while hiding in their basements - the Turkish Government has since rejected allegations it targeted civilians.
