GERMANY'S Michael Jung has completed a triple crown after winning gold in a dramatic individual eventing at the London Olympics.

Already a world and European title winner, Jung can add an Olympic gold to his trophy cabinet after keeping at bay Sweden's Sara Algotsson Ostholt and compatriot Sandra Auffarth.

Ostholt was in the prime position to take the victory, but the Swede stumbled at the last hurdle, knocking the last fence down.

Ostholt's mistake opened the door for Jung and the 30-year-old, aboard his horse Sam, was good enough to captalise.
